Well, actually i've decided to take history as my main subject in NIE instead le. I find history interesting... cos without the past, there wun be the present... n why is it call the present? Cos it is a gift, by knowing history we will be able to cherish the 'gift' even more ~ Tru this 'vacation', i have been reading on histories from all over the world =)
Share wif u guys some of the interesting facts.. that i still roughly remember =x
China Realised the 三从四德 n 四书五经 like dun really applicable to today's world For example: Women must obey her son when he grows up (fillial piety?) Women is nt allowed to voice her views
Mongolia Genghis Khan was a real warlord, brutal n merciless Gave permission to pillage n sack the cities, even rape the women (his wife got captured n was thought to be violated... n 9mths later she gave birth to a child, the first child of Genghis Khan, Jochi, but many people believed he might nt be his child...karma? ) But yet he was a man who treasure loyalty, friendship n one of the greatest leader ever The Mongol Empire ended up ruling, or at least briefly conquering, large parts of modern day China, Mongolia, Russia, Ukraine, Korea, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan,Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Moldova, Kuwait, Poland and Hungary.
Europe I gave up reading after 15 mins or so... very de chim.. the maps i see till blur =x
World Years are categorised in B.C n A.D B.C is before christ... n A.D means ammo domini (the year of the lord) It might be even a wrong date also... as many people believed that christ have been born 3 or 7 yrs b4 that... N it all started cos of a pope asking a mathematician to do something bout the date... We have all been following christianity unwittingly...*sweat*
The ice age exist very long ago... wif mammoth, sabre-tooth tiger, even lions that nvr been seen b4. N astonishingly... a women bones are found together wif them... 9000 yrs ago...
The 7 wonders of the ancient world were simply magnificent... (mY, u still remember i presented this in poly b4? haha)
Pre-history means the era when writing is nt yet available... so for hawaii island... prehistory is only a few hundred yrs ago...
History is fun isn't it? haha ~
