Had a fulfilling e-learning week last week by going gym, exhibitions and badminton. *also ate alot of nice food... i dun miss NIE canteen at at =x*
While this week is back to studies.... *today topic is about studying*
I heard a interesting exp from my lecturer.. i find it very amazing =x He was teaching in ITE, but it was hell. He said that lessons u have less than half-filled, and the half you have is all latecomers. Worse still is the ITE do not provide you with a syllabus for you to teach. Just pass you the outline and you can teach anything related in that subject in any way -.- But most importantly, i find it is outrageous. Because of the public image of ITE which they have spent many money in constructing, he maximum only can fail 4 students out of more the 400... less than 1%, which means the lecturer have to pass the students who did not appear at all during class... and it is a in-class assessment, which means no exam. So basically is they AUTOMATICALLY pass! They have creative accountancy... so you have to close both eyes to mark even though is wrong *they have creativity*.. cos u have to pass them somehow... How ironic when i see students in NIE failing even after putting much effort....
I heard an dramatic example of asking-for-too-much teachers =x My fren who was sick had an mc... thinking that he can submit his mc using the soft copy he sent it the next day. but the tutor replied in exclamation marks and capital letters that it is not acceptable! She want him to submit in person by the same day. but as he still got lessons and CCA he did not manage to check the mail until almost midnight when he reached home. He was shocked and apologized, but the tutor wanted him to come to her hse *three storey bungalow* to pass to her personally... at around 1am.... Is this reasonable? *actually still got many after stories... this would soon be a big matter =x*
And in the same course, although we diff class i also felt injustice, but in different way. in my case is the phenomenon of students handing up of assignments way beyond the stipulated maximum numbers of words. When you have more words you can express yourself more adequately and have more pts right? The tutor oredi said do not exceed the word limit, but in the end she one of the top scorers... *although technically speaking is none of my biz cos i no need to hand up that =x*
The world is unfair and could be unreasonable... but this is life, we have to get on regardlessly...
