My grandfather passed on on 9th July 2008. Was feeling down because this is the first time someone in my family left.. But on the other hand, he had been fighting the personal war for 5yrs and the daily ordeal had reduced him to bones ... He left 2 days to short of my grandma's 36th death anniversary.. maybe he left earlier so he can travel there and celebrate with her =x
In christian belief, it is a day of celebration, since he will be released of the pain of mortal and be recalled to heaven to be with the God. The wake was quite peaceful without the sounds of the bells or priests' chanting. My main discontent is that we have to listen to the service everyday... i like the part when my uncles talk about the beliefs and story of my ah gong... but dread the preaching part... you know hor the pastor actually said that if you are 外帮 (outside sect? =x), when you die, you will get worried as you dunno where u end up. But christian will know they will end up in heaven so no worries....*this really bring discomfort to my ears...* I'm one who believe in hell and heaven, ghosts and spirits you see =x
Thru the chatting with the elderly relatives, we discovered many things that were unknown ... very drama... like my a gong met my a ma when he migrate to singapore to work, and cos of his hardworking, the boss introduce him to his daughter.. who become my a ma =x He also escaped the ordeal of the jap occupation as his dad passed away, as it was unauspicious, the japs also dun dare to touch him....
Me and my siblings stayed awake tru the night for 3 conscutive nights in order to protect the area... seriously in need of sleep now =x but i got so many paperwork to finish... hiaz...
